Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)

PCIT is a form of therapy where a trained therapist observes the parent and child at play and

helps improve their relationship and the child’s self esteem thru coaching sessions. The parent

wears a bluetooth as the therapist observes the play and encourages parent to use the skills they

have been taught in the program. Homework is a main piece of this therapy and there are 2

focuses, the second being when the parent gives commands. This therapy is for children ages 2-

6 and is evidence based with growing research to support its effectiveness.
